I HATE WAITING FOR THINGS!

As Momma will tell you I am a typical Dachshund who hates waiting for things and all of a sudden there seems to be sooooo much to wait for…

There’s Sunshade’s birthday which is still a WHOLE 4 days away and I want to know what the “furry white thingy” is!

Then there’s this big bird (bigger than me) sitting in the fridge instead of the oven. I asked Momma what the deal was and she said it was for Thanksgiving and that we would be eating him in 2 days. 2 days! I don’t know 2 days from 2 minutes or 2 years. All I know is that means more WAITING!

And if all of that isn’t bad enough she came home this morning with my Christmas cards to send out, but said I would have to WAIT to get any in the mail from my friends!

I’m headed for a breakdown and fast! Oh, and I forgot the biggest waiting of all…Present Day, which you hoomans call Christmas! I can’t take it I tell you!

A very special "THANK YOU" to all my TERRIFIC pals for being so kind and understanding about my card dilema! You are the BESTEST friends any little dachsie could ever hope for! I have to admit I was a little concerned that I may have to go without treats for awhile, not that I wouldn't do it in order to make my fur-friends happy, but Momma says I would have been too cranky to live with.

I hope you're all getting excited for "Turkey Day" which is only 5 days away! I know I sure am! From the moment the turkey goes in the oven until the moment it comes out I am on "HBA" (better known as: High Bird Alert).

I'm Very Sorry...

I am very sad to say that Momma didn't realize the X-Mas Card Exchange was going to get sooo big and had to remove our name from the list, because she said we just couldn't afford all the postage. I told her she could cut down on my allowance, but she said that wouldn't be enough to make up the difference. I am very sorry that I will not be able to send cards to everyone who signed up, but Momma did say that I could send some cards to my closest buds and budesses at Dogs With Blogs. I feel very sad that I can't participate and mostly that I let you all down.

Please accept my sincerest apology *heavy sigh*

Let the Card Making Begin!

I was so excited when Miss Sunshade sent the FINAL X-Mas Card Exchange list so I could send Momma out to get all the supplies I would need to begin the large task ahead of me. I had to send Momma back to the craft store several times as she kept getting me the wrong things. Finally, today she helped me lay all my papers, glue, markers, crayons and scissors out and said that I could use the dining room table for as long as I needed. (Thank you, Momma, but with 61 cards to make that could take until NEXT Christmas! Sorry, that was a little Grinch humor.)

Summer or Fall?

I don't know what the heck is going on, but I kinda like it. Yesterday it was 74 degrees which is 30 degrees above our normal...WOO-HOO! I played outside all day and then Momma opened the window for me on my end of the couch. (Momma says, "Your end...? You hog the whole darn thing! Don't make your friends feel sorry for you by telling them a fib.") Momma's are sooooooo FUNNY! (By the way, pay no attention to the doxie pillow or dachund blanket on the couch, they are in no way a sign that I am spoiled.) Anywho, I had quite an enjoyable time sniffing and woofing at all the passerbyers. We live a couple blocks from St. Cloud State and so I got to say, "Hi" to lots of college hoomans and most of them smiled back at me which I thought was very nice of them to acknowledge my efforts as I elected myself official greeter for the day.

Now, today is another story as it only got up to 40 degrees and so I spent the day snuggling on the couch. And no, I am not now at the other end of the couch as Momma would have you believe, but I think that Momma inverted the picture to make it l o o k like I hog the whole thing.

I’m a First Prize Winner!

It’s not normally in my nature to brag about myself (Momma, why are you laughing so hard? Breathe, Momma, breathe!) but I am so proud, because I am a First Prize Winner at the RubberHedgehog.Com’s Pet Lover’s Star Search…WOO-HOO! Can you stand it, I know I can’t! I’ve been doing my happy dance ever since my rubber stamp and certificate arrived yesterday! I was a little disappointed there weren’t any biscuits or cookies involved, but I’m over that now. The picture on the certificate is exactly what the stamp looks like and if I may say so I think I look pretty darn adorable. (Momma, why are you on the floor? Humph!) Momma’s gonna be gone this weekend so I won’t get to post again until Monday. I will be in good hands with Grandma & Grandpa and I’ve made sure Momma tells Grandma not to forget my treats again this time!
