I’m Gonna Be a Rubber Stamp! Woo-Hoo!

My momma does some rubber stamping on cards and little presents she makes and so Rusty’s mom (Momma2) told Momma to enter me in the Rubberhedgehog stamp contest and I was chosen as a First Prize winner!

Here is the email Momma received from Sidelia at http://rubberhedgehog.com, plus a few comments I’ve inserted on my own:

Congratulations!!!! I am very pleased to inform you that your photo of your pet, (first of all I am NOT a PET I am my momma’s daughter and the most important part of the family). Roo has won one of the FIRST PRIZE packages in our pet lover’s star search. Though there were many charming and well-photographed pets entered in our star search contest, Roo’s adorable face along with her bright-eyes and gorgeous fur coat made her a perfect candidate for our winner’s circle. (Duh!) She will be part of our upcoming line of star search rubber stamps; her beautiful face will be featured on our web site and in our advertising – please be sure to stop and

I have sent her photo to our artist to be custom sketched for a stamp. (I only hope he can do me justice) We expect prize packages to ship in about 12 weeks (should arrive 2^nd week in October, just in time for Momma’s birthday!); our star search line of stamps will go on sale that same week. Your first prize package will include a rubber stamp bearing our artist’s depiction of Roo. (Artist’s depiction? I hope he doesn’t do anything Picasso-esc. I don’t want to have three eyes and a nose sticking out of my forehead!) You will also receive a personalized award certificate bearing a copy of the artwork for her stamp and a "my pet's a star at RubberHedgehog.Com" rubber stamp.

This is the picture that they chose to become what may be their most beautiful stamp ever. (Keep in mind that I’m a dachshund and HUMBLE is NOT a word used when describing us.)

What a Week it has Been!

I’ve had quite the week! (Boy, is that an understatement.) Bet you didn’t know I knew big words like that did ya’? Momma went to a friend's to of all things “BIRD SIT” for an entire week. While she was gone I caught my first chipmunk of the season, but before doing so the little bugger tripped me (which is definitely an illegal move, but the ref did not call a foul on the little chipper). I hurt my hip a little bit, but what was even worse was the fact that I got terribly depressed missing Momma. She’s always been there to comfort me when I needed it, but this time I was with Grandma and Grandpa and even though I love them more than anything it wasn’t the same as my momma’s love. Momma came home a week later, a day before she was supposed to, because she couldn’t stand worrying about me knowing that I was making myself sick missing her. My tail wagged for the first time in a week when I saw her come through the door. I am much better now, but still somewhat miffed that Momma would leave me for a dumb ol’ bird! I celebrated my 9^th birthday yesterday and had lots of fun and treats! I got a very special package on Saturday from my sweet hubby Rusty. It was filled with such wonderful treats and toys and most of all HIS LOVE! I got another birthday/get well package today from my good friends Sunny, TJ and Jessi. I was so happy when I opened it! They sent me my very own stuffed chipmunk that I plan on destuffing it as soon as I am up to it. I’ll get the last laugh on those chipmunks yet!
